Industrial Sales Assistant for Upper Midwest
POSITION SUMMARY
TMI Coatings is looking for an assistant industrial sales representative to assist with day-to-day responsibilities of other tenured industrial sales representatives. This includes but not limited to traveling to job sites to look at customers issues, phone sales, project management, and more. You will work closely with our tenured sales representatives to learn the craft and TMI’s problem solving model. This is an in-office position that will require travel throughout the Midwest based on company needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with other sales representatives with day-to-day tasks
- Work with experienced sales staff to learn the craft and work closely with them
- Travel overnights 3- 5 times a month
- Visit industrial plant locations to evaluate needs. Listen to the problem the facility representative is experiencing. Gather pertinent information, take notes and accurate measurements. Get facts regarding the installation requirements. Take photos.
- Must be comfortable with heights.
- Learn about TMI’s products and services so that they can be communicated to the owner.
- Assist with project management from logistics, products, change orders, etc.
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and contract terms.
- Identify prospective customers and tele market to generate your own leads, schedule appointments.
- Attend trade shows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree and/or two-year trade school degree
- Ability to effectively build relationships with prospects and customers
- Willingness to act with a sense of urgency
- Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
- Ability to communicate verbally clearly
