As we open our new operation in Mesquite, Texas, we are expanding our U.S. footprint and building a team that will help support TMI’s next phase of growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Canadian company at the ground level of a new site launch.
Our Human Resources team will be instrumental in building the culture, processes, and employee experience at this location. In this role, you will help create a workplace where employees feel supported, leaders are equipped, and the site is positioned for long-term success.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on HR policies, labor laws, performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
- Recommend and support disciplinary measures when needed while ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Act as a resource for employees, answering questions on benefits, policies, and workplace practices.
- Manage the full staffing cycle: writing job descriptions, posting roles, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and preparing offer letters and new hire files.
- Oversee onboarding and integration of new employees, ensuring a smooth transition through probation.
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programs.
- Administer benefits enrollment, support payroll inquiries, and maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS (Workday preferred).
- Partner with Health and Safety on work stoppages and collaborate with HR leadership on complex labor relations issues.
- Draft HR policies, internal communications, and presentations.
- Support HR projects and initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
- Maintain and update the HRIS database for hires, terminations, and employee changes.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and payroll systems (ADP WFN preferred).
- Strong judgment, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
