TMG & Haartz Solutions is looking for a Product Engineer (R&D) to join our growing team in Bostic, NC.
This is more than a traditional engineering role. You’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on with product development, materials, laboratory testing, manufacturing processes, customer projects, and continuous improvement while helping establish and grow our R&D capabilities.

As a Product Engineer, you’ll support the development, validation, launch, and continuous improvement of PVC-based automotive interior materials, including semi-finished and finished products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the development of new products and materials based on customer and business needs
- Support customer development projects from RFQ through product validation
- Assist with laboratory experiments, simulations, testing, and validation activities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including technical sheets, routings, and recipes
- Support DFMEAs, Quality Houses, validation checklists, and other product-development activities
- Assist in identifying and resolving raw material, product, and process-related issues
- Participate in product surveillance and market benchmarking
- Work with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges
- Support production launches and post-SOP troubleshooting
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities
- Help evaluate raw materials and semi-finished products in coordination with technical leadership
- Assist in defining and validating manufacturing processes for new products
- Work alongside experienced engineers and technical professionals while developing your own expertise
- Participate in training and travel opportunities as required
This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to international operations, advanced manufacturing, product development, and automotive materials.
Travel may be required for training, customer support, and other business needs, including training opportunities in Portugal.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, Polymer, Plastics, Materials, or a related Engineering discipline
- 0–3 years of engineering experience
- Recent engineering graduates are encouraged to apply
- PVC experience is preferred, but not required
- Extrusion or casting experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, manufacturing-driven environment
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple departments
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- A strong desire to learn, take initiative, and grow professionally
- Ability to work independently as experience and knowledge develop
