Job Title: Automation Control Engineer – HVAC & Building Electrical Systems
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Control Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated control systems for industrial HVAC and building electrical infrastructure. This role focuses on optimizing energy efficiency, system reliability, and operational performance across commercial and industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and program control systems for HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs) and building electrical systems (lighting, switchgear, generators).
- Develop and maintain PLC and HMI applications for facility automation and monitoring.
- Integrate Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Conduct system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to support system upgrades and expansions.
- Create detailed documentation including control schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational manuals.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and energy regulations.
- Support commissioning, testing, and validation of new installations and retrofits.
- Provide technical training and support to facility operations and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in automation controls for HVAC and building electrical systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
- Experience with BMS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric).
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical distribution, and energy efficiency.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking (e.g., ICONICS, Ignition).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with IoT-based building automation and smart facility technologies.
- Knowledge of NFPA, ASHRAE, and LEED standards.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and specifications.
- Programming experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBScript) for automation tasks.
Work Environment:
- Office and on-site facility environments.
- Occasional travel to client sites or remote facilities.
- May require after-hours support during system commissioning or emergency troubleshooting.
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
