Contract to Hire - Sales Assistant

As Sales Assistant you will support the TMC Sales Team in a variety of capacities including order entry, shipping, and sales support. You will assist the Sales Coordinator in entering and shipping orders as well as support the Sales Team and Customers to finalize order placement.

Job Responsibilities

· Review of purchase orders prior to order entry

· Order entry and proofing of orders

· Arrange shipping, rigging, and inside delivery

· Prepare packing slips & bills of lading

· Logistics support for ocean container shipments and international air freight

· Letter-of-credit processing

· Support the inside and outside sales teams

· Scanning and filing of Work Orders, Sales Orders, and Invoices

· Mailing and express shipment of small packages

· Processing customer Representations and Certifications

· Handling shipping damage claims

· Processing returns

· Managing customer order portals including Exostar, Ariba, and SAM.gov

· Proforma Invoice creation, organization, and filing

· Managing customer pre-payment

· Working on Salesforce CRM in support of the Sales Team

· Flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks as required in a small office environment

Requirements

· 2 years of experience in sales or shipping support

· Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred

· High level of attention to detail

· Customer centric “can-do” attitude

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Good organization, and time management skills

· Solid computer skills including Excel, Word

· Desire to improve processes and efficiency

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
