Description
The Mid-Level Computer Systems Analyst supports requirements development, business and technical analysis, documentation, testing, and implementation activities for mission-critical Navy information systems managed by the Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN).
This position plays a key role throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), working closely with users, developers, system engineers, cybersecurity teams, and program managers to ensure that system enhancements and updates meet operational needs and comply with DoD standards.
The Analyst contributes to system modernization efforts, application sustainment, workflow improvements, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Analysis
- Elicit, analyze, and document system requirements based on user input, operational needs, and system behavior.
- Evaluate business requirements and alternative solutions to improve system performance, usability, and compliance.
- Translate user needs into functional specifications for development and testing teams.
Technical Documentation
- Develop and maintain technical documents, including:
- Requirements specifications
- Functional and system design documentation
- Process flows, interface documentation, and data mapping
- User guides and release notes
- Requirements specifications
- Ensure documentation aligns with Navy configuration management and quality standards.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Support unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Develop test cases, scripts, and expected results.
- Identify defects, track issues, and collaborate with developers on resolution.
- Validate that software changes meet documented requirements and operate correctly in development and production environments.
System Implementation Support
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing deployment activities, including version releases and configuration updates.
- Work with system administrators, developers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure successful implementation of system changes.
- Support post-deployment verification and troubleshooting.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Serve as a designated Cyber Workforce (CWF) IAT II member, completing all required DoD cybersecurity training.
- Ensure system requirements and documentation account for cybersecurity controls, STIG requirements, and RMF-aligned changes.
- Collaborate with ISSOs and cybersecurity staff to support secure system design and mitigation activities.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction
- Work closely with system owners, users, technical teams, and program managers to ensure alignment on requirements and priorities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, sprint planning, and review meetings.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements, workflow enhancements, and modernization efforts.
Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an IT systems analysis or related technology role, including:
- Development of system requirements based on user input
- Business requirements analysis and evaluation of alternatives
- Creation of technical documentation
- Testing software for functionality and correctness
- Supporting system implementation and deployment activities
- Development of system requirements based on user input
Security Clearance Requirements
- Must possess an Active Secret Security Clearance.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
