Tlingit Haida Regional Housing Authority (THRHA) is seeking a capable and motivated Accountant II to support key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, general ledger activity, and timely financial reporting. THE ROLE
As an Accountant II, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate and organized accounting records while supporting essential reporting and analysis across the organization. In this role, you will:
- Perform account reconciliations, maintain balance sheet schedules, and ensure accuracy between subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger.
- Prepare and post journal entries, monthly allocations, and other adjustments that support clear and accurate financial activity.
- Compile timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, research accounting standards as needed, and assist program managers with financial status updates.
- Support audit preparation and contribute to ongoing improvements in accounting practices, reporting processes, and internal documentation.

WHAT YOU BRING
- A strong understanding of accounting principles, including reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger processes.

- The ability to identify discrepancies, correct inaccuracies, and maintain complete and confidential accounting records.
- Clear communication skills that support effective collaboration with program managers, colleagues, and external partners.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
- Four years of accounting experience required.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Starting Pay (Grade 13): $34.03 per hour/$66,359 annually
