POSITION SUMMARY

The Test Technician is responsible for monitoring test procedures and equipment within production and manufacturing to produce high quality products. The ideal candidate must be able to work 8 hours per day and 5 days per week with punctuality in addition to working overtime as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review product specs and blueprints for scheduled work assignments.
  • Prepare units for test to include filling fluids, installing test instruments, and pre-setting controls.
  • Check units’ wiring and flows using the proper documentation.
  • Test units using the proper documents and test equipment.
  • Record and calculate data.
  • Perform final run on units as assigned.
  • Prepare unit for shipment, and test related items.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping of individual work area.
  • Responsible for maintaining a daily time log of work done on manufacturing and/or production travelers.
  • Other assignments as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or higher supervisor/s.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 2 years of related experience, and a broad knowledge of the section and the operation of machines, equipment, and tools that will be used in the satisfactory performance of duties.
  • Ability to use, read, and interprets drawings and measuring scale or tape proficiently.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain as well as restricted spaces.
  • The ability to climb ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to kneel, bend, and stand for long periods.
  • The ability to work in and around areas with limited space.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting Hydraulics, Air Conditioning, and Diesel Engine applications.
  • Certified to handle refrigerants per EPA 40 CFR 82 Subpart F prior to use – type 2 or universal, preferred but not required.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

2nd shift - 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday (7% shift differential for 2nd shift)
