Christ-Centered Early Childhood Education (Infant – School aged programming)
Position Summary
Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool, a growing ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church, is seeking a passionate Preschool Director to lead our Christ-centered early childhood program. The Director will oversee the daily operations of the preschool and provide visionary leadership in academic excellence, spiritual formation, staff development, and program growth—nurturing children in both knowledge and the love of Jesus Christ. This individual will actively foster a strong partnership between the preschool and church ministries, ensuring that all aspects of the preschool reflect and support the mission and values of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
- Oversees daily preschool operations with an emphasis on a Christ-centered environment.
- Provides leadership and supervision for all staff, maintaining proper ratios and licensing standards in compliance with religious exemption status.
- Develops, implements, and maintains school policies and procedures aligned with best practices.
- Partners with Trinity’s Director of Christian Education (DCE) to integrate faith into preschool programming and coordinate joint events with the congregation.
- Maintains budget oversight and ensures financial sustainability in collaboration with ministry staff.
Enrollment & Outreach
- Promotes a positive image of the school to current and prospective families.
- Develops enrollment strategies to retain students and grow the program.
- Conducts tours and engages with families in a welcoming and professional manner.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates all preschool personnel.
- Fosters a collaborative, Christ-centered team culture.
- Encourages and supports professional development that aligns with early childhood best practices.
- Leads staff in spiritual wellness, encouraging prayer, devotions, and Christian witness in the classroom.
Curriculum & Program Development
- Ensures the preschool curriculum integrates age-appropriate academic standards with Christian values and teachings.
- Supports consistency and excellence in classroom instruction.
- Provides guidance and oversight for discipline and behavioral support rooted in love and respect.
- Collaborates with specialists (speech, occupational therapists, etc.) to support children’s development.
- Continuously evaluates and improves programs in light of current early childhood education trends.
Church and Community Involvement
- Maintains a visible presence in the life of Trinity Lutheran Church.
- Builds strong relationships with church staff, congregation members, and the local community.
- Participates in events, and ministries that further connect the preschool to the church’s mission.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in early childhood education, with at least two (2) in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian faith and active membership in a Christian congregation.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education standards.
