Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to promote safety and comfort.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans, ensuring proper meal presentation and adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning patient areas and common spaces.
- Administer medication under supervision, following prescribed schedules and documentation protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Document care activities accurately in care plans, ensuring clear communication among team members regarding each individual’s progress and needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is preferred; sensitivity to diverse needs is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with a compassionate approach to caregiving; excellent communication skills are necessary for effective teamwork.
