Quality Assurance Inspector I - 1st Shift

Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for performing a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure, using electronic test instruments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to Quality Systems Regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes).


Part Inspection and Testing
Core Responsibility
• Perform visual, mechanical, or electrical inspections on parts, components, and assemblies
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Administer quality check by connecting electronic assemblies, components, or parts to appropriate test instrument
• Verify dimensions of parts, using standard gauges
• Perform inspections at all stages of the assembly process, at component receipt, in-process, and final inspection


Documentation Review
Core Responsibility
• Assist in cleaning up or completing any production or quality documentation
• Record and log inspection data
• Assist with documentation control within the Quality department
• Close and file job/traveler packets


Safety and Cleanliness
Core Responsibility
• Adhere to all safety regulations
• Identify and report any safety concerns
• Maintain a clean work environment by cleaning workstation and plant areas as assigned


Performs other job duties and/or projects to meet business needs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, convert fractions to decimals, and convert metric to inches and the reverse.
• Ability to measure dimensions in metric and inches using ruler, calipers, and micrometer.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to communicate well with all levels of organization.
• Knowledge of IPC Standards.
• Work well independently or with minimal supervision.
• Good computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP.
• Basic knowledge of SPC and ISO guidelines.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to collect and analyze information and keep detailed records.
• Knowledge of assembly operations, specifically production flow and assembly standards.
• Sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly within the electronics industry.
• Familiar with manufacturing documentation standards (BOM, ECO, revision control, drawing interpretation).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiar with RoHS and non-RoHS materials.
• Familiar with IPC 620, ISO 9001, and quality standards.

Qualifications:
Minimum
• High school diploma or equivalent experience in a related field.
Preferred:
• 1 Year experience with manufacturing wire and cable harnesses.

Physical Requirements/Capabilities:
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear.
• Ability to frequently sit for prolonged amounts of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm's length, climb or balance, stoop or bend, push, pull, kneel, and crouch.
• Good hand eye coordination, good hand dexterity and strength.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and discern colors.
• Ability to tolerate moderate noise level in the work environment.

Salary : $16 - $18
