Full Time Assistant Toddler Teacher
TLC Academy for Young Children is seeking a full time toddler teacher aide. This is a year round, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm position.
TLC Academy is a family owned small business with a “Reggio Emilia-Inspired” early childhood learning environment. Our commitment to low-ratios and small group sizes allows us to put these practices into action. We believe that children are born with a sense of wonder and it is our job as teachers to facilitate and cultivate their natural instinct to learn.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Prior classroom experience with children 18 months - 36 months of age
- Basic knowledge of Reggio or a desire to work in that type of environment
- Understands what is age appropriate as far as goals, classroom dynamics and communication
- Ability to problem solve, effectively plan, organize and execute educational activities
- Passionate about working with Toddlers
- Calm and patient nature with a desire to learn and grow; must be flexible and able to handle change
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
- Enjoys working in a team environment, and is willing to go above and beyond what is required and assist others whenever possible
- Good communication skills both verbally and written- must be comfortable with daily communication to parents
- Participate in ongoing development and evaluation of TLC’s goals and believe in TLC’s mission
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must pass a criminal background check
- High school/GED diploma is required
- Ability to make decisions that protect children and their well-being. You are a role model for the children. Unnecessary or inappropriate behavior are not acceptable and are cause for termination.
