Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and tax regulations. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice to clients. The Tax Accountant will also be responsible for financial statement preparation and analysis, as well as regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
- Conduct thorough tax research to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Assist clients by analyzing financial implications and tax consequences.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, for efficient bookkeeping and financial management.
- Offer insights on financial planning, budgeting, asset management strategies to clients.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws that may affect clients' financial situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
- Proven experience in tax accounting with a focus on corporate accounting or financial services.
- Proficiency in financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial reports effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in account analysis and reconciliation processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interactions regarding complex financial concepts.
