About the Role:

As a Cashier, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. Your role is critical in handling transactions accurately, managing cash registers, and providing exceptional customer service to foster a welcoming environment. You will also contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, supporting overall operational efficiency. This position requires adaptability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet business needs. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact customer satisfaction and the store’s daily financial accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail customer service.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with various point of sale (POS) systems.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior experience in janitorial or store maintenance duties.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with inventory management or stock replenishment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate cash registers and handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment accurately and efficiently.
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide assistance to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Perform repetitive motions involved in scanning items and processing transactions while maintaining attention to detail.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and perform janitorial duties as needed.
• Lift and carry heavy items safely when assisting with stocking or customer needs.
• Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally and directing inquiries appropriately.
• Use point of sale (POS) systems to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
