Medical Billing and Coding

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient claim submission and reimbursement. Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Ensure accurate coding in accordance with current healthcare regulations and payer requirements
• Prepare and submit claims using EMR/EHR systems, ensuring timely processing for reimbursement
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes
• Maintain detailed and organized medical records to support billing activities
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed for precise coding
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, including ICD coding updates and CPT modifications
• Assist in auditing billing processes to improve accuracy and compliance

Skills

• Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG assignment, and medical terminology
• Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures and medical office operations
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and claim submission
• Familiarity with medical records management and confidentiality protocols
• Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare providers and insurance companies
• Prior experience in medical collection processes is a plus
