Duties
- Safely operate Class A semi truck with manual transmissions across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Drive various types of trailers including refrigerated and tanker, to deliver goods to customers on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each trip.
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while managing delivery schedules and communicating any delays proactively.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments as needed for optimal efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
- Must have Hazmat, Tanker and TWIC Cards.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Experience driving various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, tankers.
- Excellent route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or road conditions.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial drivers.
