As a member of our team, you work alongside a group of engineers, designers, and technicians who have established a reputation for generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors.
You will be responsible for observing and collecting traffic data, performing intersection evaluations, completing traffic and corridor studies, and conducting analyses using simulation and modeling software. You will also be responsible for preparing preliminary and final designs and developing construction plans for traffic signals, lighting, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing/striping.
For this opportunity, we are seeking a qualified candidate who currently resides or plans to relocate within a regular commuting distance of our office.

Responsibilities
- Lead traffic related design and plan development (roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting)
- Conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
- Create production of plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians generating safe and efficient designs for complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain within six months of employment
- Experience or interest in projects related to design and/or plan development for roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting
- Strong working knowledge and previous experience with CADD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to write descriptive and technically accurate specifications and reports; Ability to participate in or lead project team meetings and client consultations.
- PTOE Certification or interest in attaining PTOE Certification
- Previous Design-Build experience
- Previous experience in developing and evaluating transportation system and corridor alternatives
- Previous experience with traffic operations analysis, forecasting, and modeling
- Working knowledge of traffic analysis software (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, etc.)
- Previous Project Management and Business Development experience
