The Safety Technician II supports safety operations across the entire Middleton Manufacturing Center. This role performs intermediate level safety functions including hazard assessments, training delivery, safety audits, and support of regulatory and corporate safety programs. This position bridges foundational Safety Technician duties with more advanced coaching, documentation, and risk reduction responsibilities, supporting the Safety Manager and broader leadership team in improving plant safety performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Risk Reduction & Safety Program Execution
- Conducts, updates, and maintains Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and ergonomic assessments.
- Supports execution and instruction of SIF focused programs, ensuring employees understand TKE’s life critical expectations.
- Assists in implementing OSHA programs and corporate safety guidelines to maintain compliance.
- Supports safety projects including PPE assessments, 6S initiatives, and monthly safety training.
- Develops and delivers safety training modules, including new hire onboarding and task specific instruction.
- Provides safety topics for pre-shift meetings in alignment with Daily Vitamins and communication plans.
- Assists in coaching supervisors, area managers, and safety teams in proper safety practices, incident investigation, and change management.
- Conducts safety audits and inspections; tracks corrective actions and ensures timely closure.
- Assists with injury and incident documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Supports compliance through accurate data entry and document maintenance.
- Learns and utilizes required safety systems including:
- Human Tech Ergonomics Software
- Shoebox Audiometry Testing System
- KPA EHS Reporting Platform
- Supports digital workflows and safety intelligence tools to track performance trends.
- Assists in ergonomic risk reduction activities, follow-ups, and cross functional improvement projects.
- Offers practical recommendations to reduce strain, musculoskeletal risk, and unsafe work design.
- Provides initial first aid care and supports employees experiencing minor injuries.
- Escalates incidents per medical and corporate protocols while maintaining confidentiality.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required; additional safety coursework or certifications preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in safety, manufacturing, or a related field (expansion of Tech I expectations and bridge toward Tech IV).
- First Aid/CPR/AED preferred
- Working understanding of OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to conduct JHAs, PPE assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and similar safety analyses.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the Safety Team.
- Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong planning, organization, and follow-up abilities.
