The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring certified payroll reports are processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with county, state, and government laws.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure accurate processing, recording, and reporting of the certified payroll records in compliance with multi-state prevailing wage requirements, federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts.
- Research, interpret, and enforce various sources of regulatory documentation pertaining to labor issues.
- Monitor and review all certified payroll compliance documentation for all subcontractors performing on projects.
- Input certified payroll records into client/awarding body labor compliance tracking software.
- Prepare and submit WH347, state prevailing certified payroll forms as required per contract.
- Review wage determination.
- Maintain & resolve labor compliance discrepancies to avoid costly penalties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Handle the filing and processing of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wage/Affidavit of Wages Paid.
- Understand union fringes and calculations.
- Serves as subject matter expert on all certified payroll reporting matters.
- Establish and maintain consistent communication with internal customers.
- Keep current with changes in prevailing wage requirements.
- Assist with daily mail distribution.
- Provide support for other payroll functions, as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required
- 4 Year Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- 1 – 2 years of general payroll experience
- Experience with LCP Tracker, Elations, Emars, or other labor compliance software a plus
- Understanding of State and Federal prevailing wage requirements a plus
- Self-directed/self-motivated
- Strong Excel knowledge
- Ability to work in a flexible environment where requirements and procedures continuously evolve
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex subjects in simplified terms
- Proactive to solving problems/critical thinker
