Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support margin analysis and financial performance reporting
- Assist in cost accounting activities, including analysis of manufacturing costs and variances
- Analyze inventory levels, material usage, and finished goods to ensure accurate valuation
- Compare actual production costs (materials and labor) against estimates and identify variances
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate capture of production and operational costs
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Assist in maintaining and improving accounting processes and internal controls
- Participate in cross-functional communication to support financial accuracy across departments
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within accounting and financial processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with cost accounting or manufacturing environments
- Progress toward CPA certification
- Experience working with financial systems and databases
