The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.
- Supervise Non-Exempt associates for the Freight Payables Department to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices to carriers/providers.
- Provides direction and development to associates; establishes goals and objectives and holds team accountable for performance.
- Ensure tasks performed by the associates comply with internal and external auditing rules, as well as Sarbanes Oxley and government regulations. Ensure compliance with company retention policies.
- Monitor and adjust associate assignments to effectively manage workloads, backlog, and open items. Ensure proper escalation and communication of issues and unusual items.
- Responsible for the development, maintenance and adherence of SOPs and account structures (Workload & Balance) and RACI matrices.
- Maintain business relationships with external service providers and support complex invoicing, contract disputes, monitor KPIs/Performance to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices through to payment.
- Prepare/present material for Quarterly Business Reviews, carrier/provider meetings and internal meetings.
- Resolve technical and procedural issues, open items, escalate and communicate issues as necessary to appropriate contacts within and outside of department.
- Provide consistent and regular coaching and counseling, including both positive and constructive feedback. Recommend progressive discipline steps up to and including termination situations to management.
Who We Are Looking For: You.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management highly preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in a payable, transportation/logistics, or a production department required.
- 2 years prior management and/or supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Understanding of contracts and claims
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables/lookups
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate projects and business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
