The Role
As a Production Coordinator, you play a critical role in the day-to-day execution of pharmaceutical packaging operations. You are responsible for ensuring production lines are prepared, compliant, and running efficiently while leading teams through safe, high-quality, and productive work.
This role blends hands-on floor leadership, production planning, problem-solving, and people management. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, understands cGMP expectations, and enjoys coordinating people, processes, and priorities to keep production moving.
A Day in the Life đźŹ
Your day begins by reviewing the production plan, confirming equipment readiness, and verifying line clearance before operations begin. As production runs, you monitor output, manage staffing, and respond quickly to interruptions—coordinating technical support, reallocating resources, and minimizing downtime.
Throughout the shift, you work closely with Line Leaders and Quality to ensure standards are met, conduct final order checks, and document deviations when they occur. You analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and adjust the daily plan as priorities change. Just as importantly, you support your team through coaching, feedback, onboarding, and performance oversight—ensuring both today’s targets and tomorrow’s workforce are set up for success.
What You’ll Do
đź§° Preparation & Line Readiness
Ensure production tools, equipment, and materials are ready and functional.
Manage and verify compliant line clearance prior to production start.
Oversee proper line setup to ensure operational readiness.
⚙️ Production Execution & Efficiency
Oversee daily production activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and output.
Maintain productivity targets through effective coordination and problem-solving.
🔄 Changeovers & Interruptions
Manage and execute smooth changeovers between production batches.
Coordinate immediate actions during production interruptions, including engaging technical teams and reallocating staff.
Minimize downtime while maintaining safety and quality standards.
📊 Production Management & Quality Oversight
Monitor short-term production progress and address issues proactively.
Perform final checks on completed orders to ensure compliance with specifications.
Record, investigate, and report deviations; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Manage and adapt daily production planning to align with operational priorities.
👥 Team Leadership & Development
Lead Line Leaders and support 50–60 indirect associates.
Manage daily people-related activities including attendance, leave, and conflict resolution.
Oversee onboarding and training of new team members.
Provide continuous feedback and coaching to improve individual and team performance.
Contribute to long-term workforce development and retention strategies.
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated experience monitoring production schedules and output in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading teams and supporting employee growth and development.
Familiarity with cGMP and/or cGDP environments.
Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
Proven problem-solving ability, including deviation handling and root cause analysis.
Ability to adapt plans quickly and remain calm under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
