Job Summary
We are seeking a certified chimney technician to perform inspections, cleaning, repairs, and installations related to chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems. The ideal candidate will also educate customers on proper use and maintenance, and ensure safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards. Key responsibilities include inspecting, cleaning, and repairing chimneys, installing wood stoves and liners, and performing masonry repairs.
- Inspections:Thoroughly examine chimneys, fireplaces, and venting systems for damage, obstructions, and potential hazards.
- Cleaning:Remove soot, debris, and blockages from chimneys and flues using specialized tools.
- Repairs:Perform various repairs, including tuckpointing, masonry restoration, firebox repairs, and installation of stainless steel flue liners and chimney caps.
- Installations:Install wood stoves, fireplaces, and venting systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety codes.
- Customer Service:Communicate with homeowners, explain findings, and recommend necessary actions.
- Sales:Act as a salesperson for additional services and products related to chimney and fireplace maintenance.
- Safety:Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve chimney performance issues.
- Documentation:Utilize field service software to generate quotes, invoices, and document job details.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of chimney construction, venting systems, and fireplace operation.
