Fabricator / Templator / Installation Technician
TJ Marble & Granite is seeking a motivated and dependable Fabricator / Templator / Installation Technician to join our team. This position offers a variety of hands-on work, including measuring, fabricating, and installing granite, quartz, marble, and other stone surfaces for residential and commercial projects.
Location
Based in Petoskey, with travel to various job sites throughout Northern Michigan using company vehicles.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. This role combines shop fabrication, field templating, and countertop installation, providing a dynamic work environment and opportunities to develop valuable trade skills.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate templates and field measurements for countertops and stone projects
- Fabricate granite, quartz, marble, and other stone materials in the shop
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Polish, finish, and prepare materials for installation
- Load, transport, and unload materials using company vehicles
- Install countertops, vanities, fireplaces, and other custom stone products
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Experience in stone fabrication, templating, construction, cabinetry, or related trades is preferred but not required
- Ability to read measurements and work accurately with detailed specifications
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
