Responsibilities
- Assist with quality control on monthly energy and water data using the Next Generation IT (NexGen IT) reporting tool, along with the meter and billing databases, to identify and help correct reporting anomalies in facility consumption and costs.
- Anomalies may include input errors (order of magnitude), unexplained electric demand spikes, deviations from recent usage patterns, unusually high consumption per square foot and similar indicators.
- Communicate and assist with AFCEC/CN, Installation/MAJCOM, and other AF energy personnel to diagnose and correct anomalies, and/or provide proper analysis methodology documentation to explain the discrepancy.
- Heavy emphasis on spreadsheet and database analysis is required.
- The major reporting requirement is the Annual Energy Performance, Resilience and Readiness (AEPRR) report which verifies and analyzes over 1 million data points and narrative inputs.
- Assist the Government in the development, implementation, and tracking of various programs associated with the EISA 07, section 432. These tasks currently include collection of population and quality control of energy conservation opportunity (ECO) data into the FEMP Compliance Tracking System (CTS) and NexGen IT; classification and management of Installation Covered Building data; establishment/implementation of an AF benchmarking program and oversight of associated data and analysis methodologies; and tracking and data management associated with installation resilience and advanced meter programs.
- Provide extensive energy- related NexGen IT support to installation EMs to include Reserve and Air National Guard (ANG) locations.
- Support includes training on all energy related aspects of NexGen, monitoring EM data input efforts and accuracy.
- Conducts regular communications with installation EM personnel to support NexGen IT data input.
- Proficient in NexGen IT report generation, analysis, and visualization capabilities.
- 3-10 years of experience in a U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering career field and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree.
- Proficiency in computer skills to work and maintain SharePoint, websites, input/extract data and perform trend analysis using computer software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Tableau/Advana, FEMP tools.
- Excellent customer service skills such as knowledge of product (Air Force Civil Engineering), patience, attentiveness, clear communication skills, time management, and ability to use positive language to interact with customers on behalf of an organization.
- Microsoft Office Suite, written and verbal skills; ability to research, analyze data/trends, and present findings at the executive level.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred.
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required
