Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks with precision, ensuring safe vehicle recovery and transportation in compliance with all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Use automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to assess vehicle conditions and determine appropriate recovery methods
- Secure vehicles using cargo securement protocols, including the proper use of straps, chains, and other securing devices on flatbeds or tow trucks
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, utilizing equipment such as forklifts or vehicle mechanics for truck drivers when necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, including vehicle condition reports, incident details, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs
- Perform routine inspections of tow trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal safety and operational readiness
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a tow truck driver
- Valid license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and general automotive systems
- Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks, vehicle mechanics, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transport of all vehicles
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with clients
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards
