What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Youth Ministries position at Titusville First Presbyterian Church?

The Youth Director will develop,coordinate and lead a Christ-centered ministry for children and youth from birth through 12th grade. This includes providing spiritual guidance, age-appropriate programming, and meaningful relationships that support young people and their families in growing in faith. The Youth Director will cultivate a welcoming and nurturing environment that encourages discipleship, service, and connections across all age groups.
Specific Duties
- Program development and leadership that aligns with the church mission
- Plan, organize, and lead regular youth group meetings, Bible studies, and discipleship opportunities, including possible retreats, mission trips and youth outreach.
- Develop children and youth in their Christian spiritual and social development.
- Work with the church staff and volunteers to coordinate events, such as, Sunday School, VBS, and Youth Rallies.
Relational Ministry
- Build meaningful, lasting relationships with students through regular communication, mentoring, and participation in their lives outside of church.
- Be a spiritual role model and guide for youth
- Develop creative ways to reach unchurched youth in the community and foster an inclusive environment..
- Participate with other Christian ministry professionals in the community as opportunities arise.
Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise adult volunteers and leaders.
Parent and Church Encouragement
- Communicate regularly with parents about programs, events, and students’ involvement
- Encourage intergenerational involvement and connection with the wider church community.
Administrative Duties
- Manage the youth ministry supplies, and event logistics.
- Maintain clear records, permission slips, and communication regarding safety protocols
- Communicate activities through the church calendar, newsletter, bulletins, website, and social media.
- A team player willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A committed Christian with a vibrant and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ
- Passion for working with youth and helping them grow in their relationship with God.
- Previous experience in youth ministry or related fields preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Skilled at balancing fun, fellowship, and spiritual depth.
- Engage in creative ways of reaching out to the schools and being involved in student life.
- Adhere to all safety and security guidelinesand maintain boundaries
- Applicants must present Act 24, Act 34, and Act 151 clearances to be considered for the position and must be prepared to complete Act 114 clearance pending approval.
Working Conditions
- This is considered a full time job, the actual number of hours required each week may vary based on the requirements of the programming. Nights and weekends may be required, Sunday mornings included
- Work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
