Position Summary
The Food Service Operations Manager provides direction and guidance for food service employees, assisting with hiring and training new employees, monitoring employees activities and performance and providing constructive feedback, conducting staff meetings and in-services on assigned topics, assisting with opening and closing the department, maintaining the cleanliness and food safety, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of meal service, maintaining adequate supplies of formula by working closely with the formula technician to establish appropriate par levels for the most needed formulas and ordering correct type and amount in a timely manner. The Food Service Operations Manager reports to the Director of Nutrition Services. The Food Service Operations Manager expedites delivery of meals, snacks, and supplements and directs all duties of hosts in the operation of delivering meals to patients.

Essential Functions
- Directs and maintains Sanitation/Safety.
- Supervises the patient tray line area providing high quality and accurate patient meals.
- Works different positions as a relief during staffing shortages.
- Provides patient rounding and responds to requests in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively with patients on a regular basis.
- Rewards and recognizes staff for individual and team success.
- Problem solves for improving departmental efficiencies.
- Checks Patient meals for accuracy.
- Provides service recovery, and communicates escalated needs to manager.
- Maintains documentation of completed services and any actions taken.
- Knowledge of basic nutrition.
- Reports to and departs form work on time and as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
- Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
- Five or more years of experience in food service in an acute care setting preferred.
- Experience in a managerial position preferred.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment required.
