About the Role
Title Nine is looking for an Interim Sr. Merchant to join our team. This role will be full-time, Mon-Thu on-site at our Emeryville office Fri work-from-home, and is anticipated to last from June to November 2026.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Merchandising Manager, this role works to execute the merchandising strategy for major categories that support the company's goals and financial targets. This person will apply a strong point of view and expertise to create, communicate, and drive seasonal strategies and assortments with a focus on curation, new customer acquisition, and sales and margin growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Business
- Contributes to seasonal plans, develops and manages direction of seasonal product strategies and assortments to meet financial targets, long-term plans, and strategic growth.
- Partners with Cross-Departmental Partners to build, buy, plan, and market season offers.
- Ensures internal and external partners receive feedback on current business, seasonal performance, and future expectations for product sales and margin.
- Analyzes omni sales, margin, sales mix, excess, and product assortment regularly to improve the business and inform future strategies.
- Works with their IP partner to recap business weekly, hindsight, and buy plan.
- Manages pricing updates to ensure accuracy and alignment with T9 pricing strategy.
Product
- Curates seasonal assortments that are on-brand, relevant, and delight prospective and current customers.
- Partners with the merchant scout to seek out new and exciting products and vendors that deliver on category strategies and company goals via product briefs.
- Prepares and presents Assortment Reviews with/to interdepartmental partners and teams
- Provides competitive analysis, including product, pricing and promotional strategies/opportunities.
- Provides product information and positioning with cross-departmental partners.

You also have:
- A passion for the analysis and numbers that grounds you in your business.
- Strong proficiency in Excel with previous experience in formulas, pivot tables, vlookups
- Proficient in merchandising tools such as the Roadmap, NSPB, Netsuite, etc.
- Ability to build relationships and negotiate both internally and externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-manage, problem solve, and have a Can-Do attitude
- Proven ability and desire to improve processes while being open to feedback and new ideas.
- Bachelor's Degree in merchandising, product development, or similar field; or equivalent related work experience.
- 6 years of experience in retail merchandising, inventory planning, or similar.
- Experience in retail/apparel industry required.

Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
