Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, ensuring a clean and safe environment for pets, and assisting with various kennel duties. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with dogs and contribute to their well-being in a daycare and boarding setting. Prior experience in animal care is preferred, along with excellent customer service skills.
Hours: Tuesday 2:30-6:30, Saturday 7:30am-10:30am and 4:30pm-6:30pm, Sunday 4:30pm-6:30pm
Duties
- Clean and sanitize kennels and surrounding areas to maintain a hygienic environment
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing walls, washing dishes and other housekeeping tasks
- Feed, water, and monitor the health of animals in our care
- Assist with dog handling, feeding, and administering medications as directed
- Comfortable to clean up all dog waste: urine, feces, vomit, etc
Requirements
- Prior experience in pet sitting or kennel operations is desirable but not required
- Available from 2:00 pm-6:30 pm most weekdays
- Understand the body language of as well as maintain control of up to 15 dogs alone
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively
- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward pet owners and animals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, and lifting during shifts
- Patience and a calm demeanor
