What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Security Guard position at Titanium Security & Surveillance?
Responsibilites:
- To provide protection to all persons and safeguard all property located within the school boundaries.
- To serve as the responsible person in the school building providing the safety and welfare of the students and school personnel under the direction of the principal.
- To be of service to any student, staff members, or authorized visitors in need of information or assistance.
- To aid the students, teachers and/or administrators when serious disturbances arise.
- To provide help with student disciplinary matters and reporting all security instances to the building administrator.
- To assist in emergency drills and emergency response teams’ duties as needed.
- To actively assist in supervising general deportment in corridors, lunchrooms, restrooms and school grounds during the hours in which school is in session and after when needed.
- To maintain decorum and order on school grounds, in the vicinity of school and at school district events as directed by the Principal or Athletic Director.
- To monitor the school buildings at-all-times, including the monitoring of the lavatory periodically during the day.
- To assist in the enforcement of all school regulations and policies related to the protection of the physical welfare and safety of all private and public property, including viewing security camera footage when directed.
- Ensure the school buildings are secure and the security systems are operational, observing the surroundings, resolving and/or reporting any unusual conditions or activities.
- Responsible for performing tasks involving monitoring video equipment, computer equipment and/or patrolling as assigned in order to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and personal injury to the occupants.
- Exercise reasonable initiative and independent judgment.
- Displaying tact and courtesy are expected in performing public contact tasks, particularly those involving complaints and disputes.
- Obtaining trainings in safe school’s procedures as needed.
- To enforce all rules and regulations pertaining to student and staff parking.
- To supervise and direct buses and student traffic during arrival and dismissal.
- To maintain and present written descriptive reports for major incidents.
- To comply with strict regulations against sitting down and socializing.
- May perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.
- Work under the direction of the Superintendent and the immediate supervision of the building Principal.
- Ability to cover extra curriculum activities when needed (this duty will provide overtime pay).
- Perform other duties assigned in the best interest of the school district and Titanium Security & Surveillance.
