Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local individual and business tax returns.
- Provide tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Analyze clients#39; financial records, income, deductions, and credits to identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Advise clients on tax implications related to investments, businesses, real estate, and major financial decisions.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding tax matters and provide clear explanations of tax regulations.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes and communicate their impact to clients.
- Assist clients with IRS notices, audits, and tax resolution matters when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Collaborate with accountants, bookkeepers, and other financial professionals to ensure accurate reporting.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by providing exceptional service.
- Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance tax knowledge and consulting skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor#39;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
- CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or other tax certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, tax consulting, or public accounting preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Experience using professional tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
