A growing food manufacturer is hiring a hands-on leader to run maintenance at its eastern Alabama plant. You will own maintenance strategy and execution, improving equipment reliability, efficiency, and quality in close partnership with Operations. Strong leadership with mechanical and electrical expertise.
What you will do
- Lead daily team activity, balancing weekday and weekend priorities and keeping work orders moving
- React fast to line breakdowns and keep improvement projects on schedule
- Oversee production equipment upkeep and spare parts stock to limit downtime
- Run preventive maintenance programs and machine rebuilds with safety in mind
- Design or guide control system upgrades that boost output and cut stoppages
- Coach mechanics and operators (assignments, training, reviews) and help Operations expand operator-led reliability
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- 7-10 years of related experience in manufacturing maintenance, with steadily growing supervisory responsibility
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, boiler, and refrigeration systems
- PLC programming skills, GMP familiarity, and the ability to read blueprints and diagrams
- Project management ability, clear written and verbal communication, and comfort with spreadsheet and word processing software
- Physical ability to kneel, crawl, climb, and lift over 25 pounds
