What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Construction Estimator position at Titan Network?
Construction Estimator – Digital Takeoffs & AI Tools
We’re looking for an experienced, organized Construction Estimator who can produce accurate estimates and move projects forward quickly. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong construction knowledge with modern estimating technology.
The right candidate can assess most opportunities remotely using plans, specifications, photos, measurements, and other digital documentation. Occasional site visits may be necessary, but they should not be the default requirement for preparing a reliable estimate.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, photos, and project documents
- Complete accurate digital quantity takeoffs
- Prepare material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other project cost estimates
- Identify missing information, scope gaps, risks, and potential change-order items
- Request and compare supplier or subcontractor pricing when needed
- Organize estimates so assumptions, quantities, pricing, and exclusions are easy to review
- Manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines
- Communicate questions and recommendations clearly
- Use AI tools to summarize documents, organize information, draft scopes, and improve estimating efficiency
- Maintain estimate records, templates, and pricing information
Required Qualifications
- Previous construction estimating or preconstruction experience
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, materials, labor, and sequencing
- Hands-on experience with digital takeoff or estimating software, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, Procore Estimating, Autodesk Takeoff, or a comparable platform
- Ability to develop estimates from digital project information without relying on a site visit for every job
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Comfortable using modern collaboration and productivity tools
AI and Technology Experience
Candidates should have practical experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI assistants. We are not looking for an AI developer. We want someone who is curious, adaptable, and knows how to use technology responsibly to work faster and stay organized.
Examples may include:
- Summarizing plans, specifications, and project notes
- Drafting scopes of work, clarifying questions, or estimate narratives
- Organizing project information
- Comparing documents and identifying possible scope gaps
- Improving repeatable estimating workflows
All AI-assisted work must be reviewed for accuracy. Construction judgment remains essential.
What Success Looks Like
- Estimates are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Assumptions, exclusions, and open questions are clearly documented
- Project information is organized and easy for others to review
- Potential scope gaps are identified early
- Digital tools are used effectively to reduce turnaround time
