🩺 Job Overview
The Ultrasound Technologist will operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images for Radiologist interpretation. Responsibilities include proper patient positioning, equipment operation, and ensuring accurate imaging of anatomy to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
🧠 Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for exams and special ultrasound procedures
Obtain diagnostic-quality images demonstrating requested anatomy
Consult with Radiologists prior to patient discharge
Provide ultrasound guidance for physicians during special procedures
Troubleshoot imaging equipment and escalate when needed
Verify orders & patient identification using two identifiers
Maintain proficiency with ultrasound units, probes, and EPIC
Perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes
Correctly label images, ensure proper viewing planes, and handle PACS entry
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Demonstrate compassionate interaction with sick or injured patients
📚 Required Competencies
Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images
Knowledge of PACS systems
EPIC documentation knowledge
Competence in probe disinfection procedures
Strong understanding of anatomy and cross-sectional imaging
