Job Description

The SP Extruder is responsible for continuous performance according to assigned job specifications. The successful candidate will be committed to safety, good housekeeping, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Functions

• Understand the importance of an perform all required quality checks such as weight, length, and
  
  

splice verification

• Demonstrate proficiency for the successful operation of the extruder, off-line slitter, splicer, and hot
  
  

knife splicer

• Setup the extruder, skiver, splicer, hot-knife splicer, and slitter including changing dies, guides,
  
  

splicer clamps, and hot-knife clamp

• Ability to change settings on the control panel and extruder
• Proficiency in running and adjusting extruder to meet quality requirements
• Proficiency in running and adjusting splicer and hot knife to meet quality requirements
• Explain how to use information on data collection sheets and how to fill out the sheet
• Work at an effective and productive pace while operating heavy equipment
• Be a safety advocate for self and other team members
• Apply common sense to carrying out instructions and procedures
• Use problem-solving skills to deal with issues in process as they aris
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and efficiency
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (team lift required when necessary)
• Ability to stand and work in a physically demanding environment
• Must wear required PPE at all times
• Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts
• Work in a hot environment
• Maintain regular attendance
• Ability to push/pull 50-150 lbs. on a wheeled cart; static push/pull: 20 lbs.
• Pinch minimum 6 lbs.
• Grasp minimum 35 lbs
• Full range of motion required: cervical, shoulders, elbow, wrist, fingers, hands, trunk twist, and feet
• Working Conditions: moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, static shock, burns, go up heights,
  
  

odors, dust, protrusions, narrow access, good vision and hearing
