Job Summary
The Dispatcher is directly responsible for the efficient scheduling and dispatching of work crews, equipment, and service vehicles as planned or requested per company work schedules. Coordinates and directs movements of vehicles, equipment and workers to minimize interference with scheduled operations, while maintaining accuracy of equipment assigned to dispatch requests. The Dispatcher ensures field tickets are entered correctly in the system. Duties include using the telephone or computer daily to transmit assignments and compile statistics and reports on work progress and utilization. In addition, this position requires the ability to work all hours, including evenings and weekends when business needs dictate and requires a commitment to understanding and exhibiting Titan's Mission and Core Values, following safety rules, federal and state laws and regulations as well as representing the company in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
Role and Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch personnel, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to supervisor direction, customer requests, specifications, or needs using the telephone or computer.
- Coordinate with the Mechanic to arrange for necessary repairs on equipment in order to restore service and schedules.
- Manage equipment rental requests; Maintain equipment files, ensuring information and maintenance is up to date at all times.
- Work with Management and Mechanic to schedule available equipment based on service schedules.
- Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and Operations management.
- Confer with supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
- Prepare and review work orders and field tickets; Edit tickets when needed.
- Ensure accuracy of field tickets and employee time sheets per jobs assigned.
- Ensure complete and accurate data is entered and accounted for in the Operating system.
- Maintain Operating system to properly record all jobs and tickets to ensure billable services are correctly inputted into the system.
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules; Run utilization reports.
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory and other dispatch information.
- Determine type or amount of equipment, vehicles, materials or personnel required according to work orders.
- Advise personnel about traffic situations, such as construction areas, weather conditions, weight restrictions and other hazards.
- Assist in training new employees on company ticketing and tracking system.
- Assist with attaining road permits.
- Assist with Fleet Tracking system and training.
- Be central point of collection for logs and assist with the review of logs for accuracy.
- Assist with DOT compliance duties and tracking of CDL Licenses and certifications on employees and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
- 2-3 years of basic oilfield dispatch or well servicing and DOT experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ND Geographical roads and road issues is preferred.
- Technical skills with a working knowledge of logistics software is preferred.
- Successful completion and passing of company drug screen and background check.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer skills with the ability to function in a Windows-based environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Advanced organizational skills are required.
- Strong Time management skills are also required.
- Customer focused attitude is required.
- Flexibility to work weekends and nights when needed is required and essential for this position.
- Ability to respond calmly to emergency and/or critical situations.
