Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Final Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with hand and power tools, and possess mechanical knowledge. Final Assembler's produce conveyors and equipment by assembling parts and subassemblies and following blueprint specifications.
Duties:
- Assembles drive packages, which include motors, reducers, bearings, sprockets, chain, v-belts, sheaves, brake, clutches, etc.
- Responsible for the overall conveyor quality, which includes its functionality and acceptable appearance.
- Operates a variety of hand tools and machines to identify/assemble the parts received and build the conveyor.
- Maintains inter- and intradepartmental workflow by displaying positive communication, actions, and cooperation.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area. Maintains user equipment as necessary to perform job functions.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
- Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
- Driving a company vehicle may be required in the course of performing duties for this position.
- Operates forklift to move product.
- Enter data and records required information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Detail-oriented and consistent.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
- Works well as a productive member of a team.
- Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16
- Have problem solving skills.
- Must be willing to learn and stay on task.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with assembling mechanical components.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Knowledge of forklift operation
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
