Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing rapport to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance services, including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension, alignment, transmission work, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Prepare accurate auto estimates using dealership or shop management software and communicate costs effectively to customers
- Upsell additional services by highlighting benefits that enhance vehicle safety, performance, and longevity
- Coordinate with technicians and mechanics to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work
- Write detailed service orders and maintain thorough documentation of all customer interactions and vehicle repairs
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Experience
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in auto service management roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience preferred
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and technical terminology such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, tire services, suspension systems, brakes, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing processes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience in upselling automotive services to maximize revenue opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales techniques related to automobile sales and automotive repair services
