Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Assess vehicle conditions using automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to determine the best recovery approach.
- Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, adhering to safety procedures and cargo handling standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and equipment, including vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all traffic laws and commercial driving regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or diagnostics when necessary, leveraging mechanic experience and automotive repair skills.
- Manage conflict situations professionally with customers or other stakeholders to resolve issues amicably.
Skills
- Experience is required to operate any of our equipment independently but we will train the right person.
- Applicants must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and automotive repair techniques.
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other related equipment.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of vehicles.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and understanding of manual transmissions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management tactfully.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Familiarity with vehicle mechanics, automotive diagnostics, and basic repair procedures enhances effectiveness on the job.
