What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Tire Rack?
Tire Rack is looking for a hardworking, team oriented Warehouse Associate who is willing to work in each position within our distribution center at our South Bend, IN corporate headquarters. A Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other.
Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Associate, you would be responsible for inbound and outbound activities, stock picking and mounting and balancing tire and wheel packages within the warehouse. This includes moving materials within the warehouse and the loading/unloading of materials onto or from trailers utilizing a forklift, reach truck, order picker or other heavy material handling equipment.
Inbound activities may include:
- unload incoming merchandise from trailers
- verify and receive merchandise into inventory
- palletizing and shrink-wrapping
- repeatedly lifting up to 80 pounds
- clear dock using electric pallet jack
Outbound activities may include:
- pairing tires, wheels and accessories to fulfil orders
- safely operate a stand-up stock picker in narrow aisles to pick product by order and deliver to appropriate area
- mount and balance tires on wheels
- clean and package wheels for shipping
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work overtime when needed
- May require standing up to 10 hours
- May require bending, stooping, lifting throughout an entire work day
- Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 80 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
- Working conditions will be typical of a warehouse environment
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside of the typical schedule are requirements of the position.
Pay and Hours
Full-time:
- Starting rate of pay: $17.00 per hour
- Hours: 40-45 per week
Part-time:
- Starting rate of pay: $16.00 per hour
- Hours: 15-25 hours per week
