GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Warehouse Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the receiving, stocking, and distribution of tires and wheels for all store locations; manages the day-to-day activities in the assigned warehouse. The goal is to ensure productivity targets are achieved, inventory accuracy is maintained, and all warehouse processes are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides leadership and manages the day-to-day activities for warehouse associates assigned to different shifts.
- Performs daily huddles at the facility to ensure associates understand work tasks, expectations, and deliverables.
- Manages warehouse associates, organizing the labor of loading/unloading trailers/containers, operating forklifts/industrial equipment, picking material to fill orders, staging product for loading, running load sheet, organizing load to go out on routes daily.
- Manages our trucks to make sure the regular PM Schedule is followed, and trucks are clean on the inside daily.
- Manages maintenance of assigned facility, product handling equipment, and inventory warehousing control systems.
- Champions safe working conditions and monitors associates to ensure safe operation of equipment and that all waist harnesses are being worn on equipment.
- Manages our drivers, making sure we can run multiple routes daily.
- Plans and leads all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration to ensure quality delivery of all daily production goals.
- Provides onboarding, training, or provides adequate training for associates; coaches, motivates, and evaluates associates daily.
- Making sure all will-call orders are ready for any customers' pickup orders is the stage for pickup.
- Any other applicable duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proven warehouse supervision experience
- Hands-On Leadership - Leading by example
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
- Expertise in warehouse supervision procedures and best practices
- Leadership skills and ability to supervise associates
- Strong customer service desire
- Desire and ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment with a positive "can-do" attitude
- Good attendance and ability to adhere to work schedule
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years' warehouse/inventory experience required
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows, computer and key boarding skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Powered industrial equipment certification a plus
