Description: The Tipton R-VI School District is seeking elementary teacher applicants for an elementary teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is open until filled.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood (Pre-K-3) and/or Elementary Education grades 1-6
- Valid DESE Teaching Certification or eligible to receive on a DESE-approved timeline - verification must be in place at the time of interview
General Expectations:
- Provide instruction to elementary-level students. Ability to emphasize reading, writing, and math skills at the expected grade level.
- Ability to adapt to a technology-based environment; Smartboard, iPad, Tablets, Chromebooks.
- Attend professional development meetings on a regular basis.
- Exemplary work attendance.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Knowledge in developing formative and summative assessments.
- Knowledge in the development of the district-level curriculum.
- Knowledge of the Missouri Learning Standards for elementary grade levels.
- Create and implement a classroom management plan.
- Communicates effectively with all members of the school district, parents, and community.
- Communicate and plan with a cooperative grade-level teacher.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and discipline.
- Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner.
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team, or other assistance teams as requested.
- Implement special education plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs, and individual health plans.
- Reacts to change productively.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by Board policy.
- Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
- Participate in the Summer School Program.
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise students at all times.
- Participate in before and after-school supervisory positions.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Be able to identify the needs and abilities of individual students and to adapt instructional methods accordingly.
- Speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously.
- Move around the classroom.
- Be able to present information to students and co-workers.
- Ensure that activities conform to district and state guidelines.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Attendance:
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
