Company Overview
Ever watch a room full of 4-year-olds light up the second the music starts? That's the job. Tippi Toes brings ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop to daycares, schools, and community centers across Houston, and we're looking for an instructor who genuinely loves being around little kids and isn't afraid to be silly, energetic, and a little bit of a rockstar for 30 minutes at a time. No two days look the same — one afternoon you might be teaching tiny dancers their first pliés, the next you're leading a full-blown hip hop dance party. If you love kids and love to move, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule & Travel
This is a part-time role, roughly 8-10 hours per week. You'll travel to different locations across Greater Houston (neighborhoods like Memorial, Bellaire, River Oaks, West University, the Heights, Montrose, and more) — sometimes teaching at two or three different sites in the same day. Drive times between locations can be up to 30-45 minutes, so a reliable car and comfort navigating the city are a must.
Pay: starting at $18 per class (classes typically run 30-45 minutes)
What you'll do as a Tippi Toes Dance Instructor:
- Review assigned curriculum and lesson plans before class (no choreography creation required — it's provided)
- Teach high-energy, structured classes following Tippi Toes' curriculum and playlists
- Arrive in proper dress code with time to set up
- Build positive relationships with students and school staff
- Communicate regularly with the Operations Mananerg and fellow instructors about class/student updates
- Help grow class enrollment by partnering with school directors
What we're looking for in a Tippi Toes Dance Instructor:
- A genuine love for working with young children (ages 2-8)
- High energy, self-motivated, positive attitude
- Comfortable driving throughout the Greater Houston area daily
- Current driver's license and reliable access to a car
- Willing to complete a background check
- Performance background a plus (dance, theatre, cheer, etc.) — but not required if you bring the right energy
