Qualifications:
- Valid Teaching License
- Ability to work well with administration, colleagues, and other school staff.
Responsibilities:
- Effective classroom management.
- Work well with students in both small group and large group settings.
- Follows high standards of professionalism.
- Participate in PLC.
- Work with instructional assistants.
- Use classroom data to drive instruction in all academic areas.
- Implement evidence-based reading instruction techniques.
- Conduct regular reading assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with instructional coaches and specialists to enhance reading instruction
- Deliver instruction using an explicit instruction model that includes clear learning targets, teacher modeling, guided practice, checks for understanding, and purposeful student engagement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to explicit vocabulary instruction within literacy instruction to strengthen students’ language development, comprehension, and academic achievement.
- Provide targeted tier II interventions for struggling readers
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to literacy and the science of reading.
