Reports to the Director of Special Education and the Assistant Director of Special Education.
Position Purpose
The BCBA will
-
Support positive behavior change for students in collaboration with staff.
-
Provide monthly supervision to all district Registered Behavior Technicians required for them to maintain licensure
-
Provide direct/indirect services to students, consultation with school staff, and lead Professional Development opportunities
Certification and Qualifications
-
Certification as a BCBA
-
Experience working in the Public School setting preferred
-
Recommended master’s level licensure in the areas of
-
- school, clinical, or child psychology
-
school social work or school counseling
-
general or special education
-
administration
-
or other qualified area
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-
Conduct formal and informal functional behavior assessments
-
Develop behavior intervention plans with school personnel to support students throughout the school environment.
-
Design behavior protocols and crisis intervention plans.
-
Assist school staff in writing individualized education program (IEPs) goals.
-
Participate in case conferences and other meetings involving students on their caseload.
-
Assist students in crisis situations.
-
Provides ongoing consultation, involving classroom observations, staffings, coaching, troubleshooting, and support to staff involved in supporting students with diverse needs.

Model and support staff development of positive behavioral interventions and research based interventions.

Develop data collection systems in collaboration with school personnel to track behavior and academic progress.

Assist school personnel in analyzing data in order to choose appropriate positive behavioral interventions and make informed changes to interventions.

Collaborate with family members, outside service providers, and home school personnel.
