What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative Teacher - Grades K-12 position at TIPPECANOE SCHOOL CORP?
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Elementary, Middle and High School Alternative Education Teacher(s) to provide meaningful instruction to students in a non-traditional learning environment. This role is designed for an educator who excels at working with diverse learners, including those who may face academic, behavioral, or personal challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) using evidence-based strategies

Teach self-regulation, conflict resolution, and coping skills.

Use de-escalation and crisis prevention/intervention techniques

Collect and analyze behavior data to monitor progress and adjust strategies.

Integrate functional, vocational, and social-emotional learning alongside academic instruction.

Participate in case conferences and IEP meetings

Ensure instruction, supports, and accommodations are implemented as written.

Maintain accurate academic and behavioral progress data.

Provide timely progress reports to parents/guardians and the IEP team.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required
-
Indiana teaching license in Mild Interventions.
