What are the responsibilities and job description for the RF Systems Engineer position at Tiposi?
About Tiposi
Tiposi is a Silicon Valley medical device startup developing AI-powered, microwave-based brain imaging technology — built to detect strokes and expand access to brain health screening worldwide. We combine RF innovation, custom ASICs, and machine learning to make imaging faster, safer, and more accessible than ever before.
What You'll Do
As an RF Systems Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing and optimizing the RF subsystems that power our breakthrough imaging device. You’ll work hands-on with antennas, receivers, and system integration to push the limits of what’s possible in non-invasive diagnostics.
You will:
- Lead and mentor layout contractors to ensure precision, quality, and timely project execution.
- Design and test advanced antenna systems, performing wave propagation analysis and anechoic chamber measurements.
- Analyze and optimize receiver systems (intermodulation, sensitivity, noise figure, desensitization).
- Apply deep practical knowledge in RF circuits, calibration, and hardware testing.
- Model and simulate systems using ADS, HFSS, and MATLAB.
- Operate network analyzers, signal generators, and other RF lab instruments.
- Communicate clearly across cross-functional hardware, software, and AI teams.
- Drive innovation in a fast-moving, collaborative startup environment.
What We’re Looking For
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on RF design and testing experience
- Strong grasp of electromagnetic theory, RF calibration, and hardware integration
Bonus Points For
- Experience supporting overseas production or manufacturing transfer
- Wideband RF or microwave imaging experience
- Familiarity with medical device development or regulatory environments
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
Why You’ll Love It Here
- At Tiposi, you’ll gain experience at the intersection of RF, AI, and healthcare innovation — building technology that can genuinely save lives. You’ll work alongside top engineers and scientists in a culture that values initiative, creativity, and collaboration.
A note about our compensation structure:
