Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakers Assistant to support our culinary team in a fast-paced food production environment. The ideal candidate is energetic and fun! A positive attitude is a must! This person will assist with dessert preparation, front counter and phone assisting, packaging, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for the food industry and culinary arts to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including baking, cooking, and assembling ingredients for various products
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision and creativity, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
- Package baked goods and other food items efficiently for delivery or retail sale
- Support food production processes by following recipes and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations
- Handle food items safely during all stages of preparation, storage, and packaging
- Assist in catering events or restaurant service as needed
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and baking tools
- Contribute to maintaining a positive customer service experience when interacting with clients or customers
Experience
- Previous experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts is preferred
- Experience in food handling, food safety practices, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as knife skills, food preparation, and catering is advantageous
- Prior work in food production, catering, or restaurant settings will be considered a strong asset
- Passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills in baking, pastry decoration, and food presentation
