Lead Grounds Maintenance Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervision and tasks of the Grounds Maintenance Engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
• Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
• Responsible for Grounds crew personnel and all grounds keeping and landscaping maintenance at the facility; to and include; mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, pruning and raking. Keeping sidewalks swept and free of debris and shovel snow and apply ice melt in the winter.
• Setting up and tearing down of special events.
• Facilitates the flow of information throughout the Grounds Department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
• Operates company vehicles as required. Responsible for and conducts preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned. 
• Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and codes, NFPA Standards and internal safety policies and procedures. 
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
• All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises all grounds maintenance activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training of associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required.  One year experience in grounds crew maintenance and supervisory experience preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver’s license required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules and regulations, technical procedure manuals, instructions, and basic correspondence, reports and memos.   Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from system users.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
